Seeking broadcast field reporter to cover the political and business beat in Washtington D.C. This reporter will produce clean, accurate and relevant content tailored to the web, social media, tablet and mobile.

About Us:
Well capitalized, new media/broadcast news start-up headquartered out of Portland, OR with operations starting in four major US cities. 

Minimum requirements:

• Broadcast Journalism degree from a recognized university.
• 2 years experience working as a field reporter for a news broadcaster.
• Ability to be a one-person crew with demonstrated skill sets operating broadcast quality equipment (work flow training will be provided)
• This is a deadline driven fast paced environment. Advanced skills in digital workflows and knowledge of social media are critical to this position.

• Ability to break news and to identify newsworthy events and sources
• Strong writing, analytical and investigative interviewing skills
• Ability to relate comfortably to a wide range of people, in person and online, and to develop sources and an audience
• Competitive, collaborative, curious
• Knowledge of business, and/or business community, a must
• Proven experience building, maintaining and engaging an active audience
• Ability to work independently under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately
• Solid understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics and story structure
• Experience with using social media to source and promote content a must
• Understanding imperatives of multiple platforms – print, mobile, Internet, etc.
• Mastery of social media and digital interaction
• Proven ability to utilize a broad set of tools to tell stories and engage the audience
• Ability to leverage relationships with sources to deliver content that differentiates the organization from competitors
• Attend industry related events
